This song is a true story. Dumas Walker had a bar on the KY/TN line just south of Tompkinsville. He was actually known as the marble king. Sadly the bar burned down about a year ago.

Here’s the story. Two native’s getting drunk in the base club back in the early 90’s when this song came out. Raise our glasses for a toast only to smash them together and breaking the glasses and getting kicked out of the base club at the Long Beach Naval Station. We had some good times jamming this tune and slamming some beers at the same time.

@Rowdy3251: You are so right. I grew up with old country and I can’t stomach the new stuff compared to George, Alan, Willy, Waylon and the boys! This is a damn good song.

i met these guys twice. once at the Hart County Fair. they were doing a stint on WLOC. back when they did the Chitlin’ Time show. and the other in Cave City, near the Wigwam Motel, where they bought an old 1950’s Cadillac…robin-egg blue i think it might have been….a couple of months later i saw that very same car in on of their videos.
people talk about being “down to earth” all the time. but these are the only guys around that truly are..
